New Artists Need To Listen And Learn - Captain Planet 4x4

Award winning trio, 4x4 in a recent interview on Pluzz FM expressed their dissatisfaction with the music industry, one-hit wonders filled with ego and paying too much to promote their music.
On the group breaking up, CP revealed;

“I always tell my team the music we are doing is more like a spirit so if we split the spirit will break down. Because everyone will want to prove they are doing well after the break up. And the spirits will start conflicting and things will crumble more.

“I try to tell the young ones about this but most of them are filled with ego. When they have the hottest single in town and getting bookings here and there and you try to explain things to them, they feel they have seen it all.  The truth is we have been to almost all the places they are rolling in now and have seen all the girls they are hanging out with now even before they saw them. We have seen everything and yet try to stay humble  and work; but these new artists have too much ego. They need to listen and learn from their predecessors.”

On how the media treat their music and videos, Coded said;

“We are not being treated fairly by the media because here you have to pay for everything including airing videos and songs on radio stations, TV and more. What we create is content for their platforms and they have to pay as for creating content for them but we don’t get it. There are people who understand content like 4Syte but the rest don’t get it.

“When promoting a song, you have to go all out and that becomes a load on us. The fans don’t see things that way, they just want to see and hear the music and we have been doing this for eleven years.

“People say we should rely on social media because when you put your music video on Youtube it’s for the young and tech savvy crowd, but there are people who only listen to radio and some who prefer TV. To make a hit, you have to reach out to all these people.

“If entertainers don’t appear on TV stations they won’t last and within months they will collapse. If music videos, movies, theatre and everything is pulled off, give them some time and see how they will fair.”

Fresh Prince concluded by acknowledging the fact the systems remain the same even though they have spoken about it, things never change.

“But the sad thing is that we find our self in a system where no matter how hard you try things don’t change.”
